Steve Nyland's Mural Painting, Utica Greens Festival, September 15 2012

Special thanks to Rome NY based photographer Kathy Bottorff Stockbridge for these amazing pictures! the top taken with my small pocket camera with the mural about 1/3 on its way & the two below of the final state, derived from a digital print she showed me as a sample proof.

Incredible!

I painted that?? YES.

Be sure to visit Kathy's website Flashback Photography here:

And look for her business page on Facebook here:

And in a delightfully unexpected development, artist & live mural event organizer Tony Thompson sent the above image along showing how my painting had been saved by the Utica Skate Plaza crew after their Jam 4 Change benefit on Sunday the 16th.

Game plan is to get them a fresh crackle board of the same size for a swap, hopefully before the 1st of the month. The base composition was sketched out in charcoal then gone over with an acrylic gel medium to fix it down -- The rest of the painting was done with only acrylics so chances are it will be nicely preserved regardless of what mother nature hurls at it. Will keep the blog updated on how this progresses ... I even have an idea of where in Syracuse to propose showing it  ;D
