Unknown Object Passing In Front Of The Moon, May 5 2012

May 5th was a somewhat eventful evening. Intrigued by a gorgeous full moon on a superb spring evening I set out to shoot some pix + video of the spectacle for use in a video art project. With no tripod the best I could think to do was walk out into the middle of a nearby soccer field, place the camera on my backpack on the ground & angle it upward. The idea was to shoot about six minutes of 30 second clips and think of something to do with them after.

At the end of April I was invited to join Michael John Heagerty and Jonathan Cantrell's VersuS group of younger artists coming of age in the CNY cultural landscape. One of whom I instantly connected with when bringing some work down for a show at the VersuS space on Syracuse's near west side: Baldwinsville native Tony Thompson, who is the most formidable artist I have encountered since leaving NYC in 2002. This guy is going places.

Two Large Paintings From The 1990s Recovered!

Much of the artwork I made prior to 2008 ended up in storage for many years, so long that much of it was forgotten. Here's two of them, the big face being one I am working on restoring for exhibition in a space yet to be determined.
