Big painting with High Flow liquid acrylic, producing an effect I mistook for QOR watercolor.

I was fascinated by Erin's focus on the luminosity of the acrylics she was experimenting with.

Here's a great example of how it pays to visit the web presence of the artists in question prior to observing their studio work without a guide. Had no idea these were drying patches for "ropes" (my term) of acrylic which would then be peeled off the surface. My brain read them as cuneiform writing symbols for some lost Ancient Astronaut culture brought forth via the artiste as creative channel.

... Soon started to dawn on me that every last bit of space in Emma's studio & beyond was covered with the things, like they were drying or something.

So in fact they are drying patches for "ropes" of acrylic which then get peeled off for purposes not yet seen.

... Who was delighted by my Ancient Astronaut theory! and confirmed that yes, she's a "Peeler" who knits with the finished ropes like yarn, with some of her finished works on the table there. And about halfway home it occurred to me that I'd not gotten a good shot of the results. Darn near almost turned around - You have me at the airplane! will see what I can nick of various feeds to supplement.

Artist unknown, from the lobby area - will get to the bottom of this next visit!
